This year we are proud to announce the debut of our new Sunshine Committee, dedicated to reminding teachers and staff how grateful our community is for them throughout the year.

This committee handles the PTA membership all year. We are striving for 100% membership!

Committee will organize volunteers to provide refreshments and meals in teachers’ lounge during teacher and staff appreciation week and coordinate activities with the students and room parents.

This committee is responsible for maintaining a relationship with local businesses that regularly donate to Portola Springs Elementary and ensuring all requests are appropriate. This person also maintains a record of all requested/received donations and ensures that our community donors are recognized and appreciated for their support. No cold-calling needed - all relationships previously established.

Work with the PTA Board to send periodic updates of school events, notices and announcements via social media, newsletters and our website.

The Book Fair helps raise money to purchase books for our school library. Volunteers are needed to help with unpack and pack up the Fair, helping shoppers locate products, serving as a cashier, bagger or crowd control.

All auction proceeds benefit Portola Springs Elementary PTA and help fund school and classroom needs such as library books, technology, field trips, and reimbursement of teachers’ out-of-pocket expenses.

Jogathon is our annual PTA spring fundraiser in the form of a running/walking marathon. The purpose of this activity, other than supporting our school, is to treat our children to a healthy group activity full of fun. This committee organizes and implements the event that fosters community spirit, unity, and fun. Committee is responsible for gathering volunteers, concessions, communication of event, pledge forms, etc...

The Portola Springs PTA asks all parents for a once-a-year donation to support the education of our children. Your donation is needed more than ever this year to help provide resources that enrich our children’s education. Please consider making a generous contribution to the PTA annual pledge drive. We need to work together to fill the holes left by state budget cuts to ensure that our children have a quality education.

Our pledge drive goal is to have all families at Portola Springs participate. This is our primary fundraiser for the school year. By having all families participate, it allows us to limit additional fundraising activities and requests throughout the remainder of the school year. Our suggested pledge is $100 per child. All contributions are tax deductible and confidential. ANY contribution amount makes a difference!

Assist in preparing activities for this making healthy choices awareness campaign one week in October.

The Portola Pacers is a physical fitness based program designed to get students and the community moving and excited about exercise, and running, and setting goals. Throughout the program students will meet with the chairperson once per week to complete a one mile run, with the culmination being the last mile with students and any parents running together at the annual "Kids Run the OC" OC Marathon event. This is a very fun, engaging, and rewarding event.
